This New Mexico road is an absolute blast to drive.  Heading towards the mountains, this two lane road quickly becomes a single lane road as it climbs into the mountains.  With sharp curves, massive elevation changes, scenic views, and dramatic drop offs, this road provides a fun and hair-raising adventure until the pavement suddenly.

This Colorado road never ceases to amaze us.  Taking you from high mountain desert with a Southwestern look and feel, through a mountain pass with pine trees galore, and then back into a high mountain desert.  At higher elevations, don't forget to lookout for free range cattle, since this road is rarely traveled, they like to stand in the road at times.

As this Texas Hill Country road begins to climb higher and higher, the view across the hill country becomes more spectacular with each passing mile.  Stop and spend some time enjoying the views, but don't forget to explore some of the side roads that offer a fun adventure through the hills.

Without a doubt, this is our absolute favorite road in the Ozark area.  This road was mentioned to us by a dear friend many years ago, and when we eventually visited the area, we could not believe this gem of a road is so close to a major metroplex area.

With a major interstate just a few miles away, this New Mexico highway does not get as much traffic.  But if you like twists, turns, mountain passes, scenic views, and miles and miles of uninterrupted road with very little traffic, then look no further.

Deep in a Rocky Mountain canyon, this Colorado road whizzes you past sharp canyon walls as it follows the mountain stream that winds its way through the canyon.  This can be a fun leisurely ride, or a nail biting adventure, depending upon how much other traffic there is, and how they are driving.

This Texas Hill Country road is often overlooked due to its proximity to what has been described as the best roads in Texas.  But on a sunny afternoon, if you get tired of all the traffic on the other roads, visit this road for a nice leisurely adventure, and still have time to meet everyone at one of the local joints for an evening of food and drink.

Hold onto you hat, this Ozark road is a crazy roller coaster ride full of winding curves and sudden and dramatic elevation changes that make you feel like you are on everyones favorite ride at the theme park.

Heading into the mountains, this New Mexico road takes you on a wild dive into the valley that then takes you deep into the mountains ahead of you.  There are a lot of great driving roads in this area, and don't forget to spend some time here to enjoy the tourist attractions that make this a wonderful vacation location.
